a collection of ceramic wall ornaments
With a decorative function that appeals more to the emotion than the practicality, and with the intention of drawing the walls and ceilings into a space. This project arose from the importance that I attach to quality, and from my belief in the valuable connection that we can have with our belongings. A strong aesthetic experience can ensure a long lasting relationship and durable lifespan because of how we deal with objects that we care about: we handle them with care. This carefulness gives the user the opportunity to build a durable bond with their belongings.
Translated to a more modern interpetation, Handle with Care is inspired by classing ceiling decoration from the past, such as ceiling rosettes.
Minimalism in modern times seems to lack elements for users to have a high sense of affection for products by taking away beautiful decorative details from objects. I believe that emotional durability could be a key to the sustainability of products.
